For Kids

Gray Eagle Lodge provides your young explorer with a variety of adventures to conquer. Our kid-friendly hikes to Lilly Lake or Smith Lake offer a cache of discoveries. The Red Fir Trail is a great hike for youngsters with USFS markers and information placards.

A tour of the Kentucky Mine/Stamp Mill or gold panning at Plumas Eureka State Park in Johnsville, offer a historical journey. A short drive to Mills Peak Look-Out Tower offers break-taking views of Mt. Lassen and the Mohawk Valley. The rangers offer special Smokey the Bear memorabilia.

The town of Graeagle offers miniature golf, a driving range and the Mill Pond. Portola, a short 15 minute drive, hosts the Railroad and Train Museum. Driving an old locomotive is the highlight for most children (and adults)! If high-speed adventure is more attractive, try Sierra Touring Company’s ATV tours in the Sierra Valley.

The Lodge offers a natural swimming hole, below Graeagle Creek waterfall, for swimming and rubber raft play. The kids just might be able to land their first rainbow trout too!
